We have heard mixed results from mainland Chinese attendees – mainly positive. The attendee experience will highly depend on their location, connectivity, and whether they will need a VPN to access the sites outside of China.
Some organizations rave about how wonderful the experience of their Chinese attendees was at their virtual events. MedscapeLIVE! has a partner development team based in China, and is always actively working to maximize reliability.
From time to time, however, attendees from China have had difficulty getting on the platform. This is not a result of any platform changes or updates, but rather the generally unpredictable nature of internet censorship within China.
When this happens, we recommend that our mainland Chinese attendees attempt to connect via a VPN. We, therefore, recommend informing attendees and faculty in China to prepare and test a VPN in advance. Unfortunately, if there are access issues, we are quite limited in our ability to actively troubleshoot from our side.
Pre-recording content from any Chinese contributors and planning to make all content available on-demand for an extended period of time after the live event is another way to ensure that your Chinese attendees have the best chance of experiencing all of your content.
